Jean-Marie Zeitouni

Known for his expressive, compelling style as well as for his ardour and sense of drama, Jean-Marie Zeitouni is one of the most brilliant conductors of his generation. He graduated from the Montreal Conservatory of Music where he studied under Raffi Armenian, graduating in orchestral conducting, percussion and composition. Jean-Marie Zeitouni is also principal guest conductor of the Colorado Music Festival, artistic partner of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a regular contributor to the Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy and the Opéra national de Lorraine.
Over the course of his fruitful career, Jean-Marie Zeitouni has notably been artistic director of the I Musici de Montréal chamber orchestra and musical director of both the Colorado Music Festival and the Columbus Symphony in Ohio. He worked closely with Les Violons du Roy for a dozen years, alternately holding the positions of conductor in residence, associate conductor and first guest conductor.
Highly sought after in both the symphonic and lyrical repertoires, Jean-Marie Zeitouni has performed in Quebec, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, France, Russia and Hong Kong with such orchestras and companies as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Opéra de Montréal, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Russian National Orchestra, the Glimmerglass Opera and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also conducted at such prestigious festivals as Lanaudière, Domaine Forget de Charlevoix and Mostly Mozart in New York.
